Dr. George J. Frem, MD, MBA, FACP, FASN, FAIHQ CEO and Medical Director

A native of Lebanon, Dr. Frem obtained his baccalaureate high school degree from “College des Freres Maristes”, Champville, Beirut, before moving to the United States to embark on a long journey of Studying medicine. He attended Northeastern University and Boston College for his pre-medical studies then St George’s University School of Medicine and University of Miami for his medical degree. He later finished his internship training in internal medicine at Yale-affiliated Waterbury Hospital in Connecticut, and his residency at York Hospital in Pennsylvania. His fellowship training in Nephrology and Hypertension was done at Maine Medical Center, Portland and Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He is board-certified in internal medicine, nephrology and is a clinical specialist in Hypertension. He holds an MBA degree as well from St Francis University. Johnstown has been his home for the last 20 years where he made his work his passion, by giving patients choices in their care and bringing innovative care to the community. He is the founder of The Kidney Center, St George’s Laboratory, Prodigy Dialysis, Home Dialysis Care, and Prime Care Providers. He is currently working with the Johnstown Redevelopment Authority on transforming the old Cambria Rowe Business School in Johnstown, into a state of the art outpatient medical facility, which will be named after his special devotion to the Blessed mother “Ave Maria Medical Care Center”. He is a fluent speaker of English, Arabic, Lebanese, French and Italian, with knowledge of Latin and Syriac. He is married with 5 children. Some of his hobbies include traveling, sporting clays and cooking as well as loosing chess to his youngest son.
