Karan D. Nealen, CRNP Primary Care
Karan Nealen has been a Nurse for over 16 years. She began her nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2008. She obtained an associate in science, in 2010 at Mount Aloysius College. She began working at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center on the nursing Float team for one year and then worked on the Medical/Surgical/Trauma floor for seven years. While working at Conemaugh, she obtained her bachelor’s degree from Mount Aloysius College. She wanted to be more involved in her community and began working as a Home Health Nurse with Conemaugh Home Health in Ebensburg, PA for three years. The Home Health experience led her to want to become a Nurse Practitioner. Karan noted that her patients could not always get in to see their providers when needed due to a shortage of healthcare providers. Karan wanted to help and serve her community in the best possible way so she enrolled in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Chamberlain University, Illinois. She returned to work at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center Medical/Surgical/Trauma unit while attending school. In 2019 she obtained her Masters in Family Nurse Practitioner. Karan began her Nurse Practitioner career working in internal medicine for four exciting years. She previously worked with the MHMR population for over 7 years. Karan is excited to begin a journey with Prime Care Providers (PCP) at the Richland office. Karan has been happily married to her husband Bill for thirty-three years and together they have two sons who also serve our community. Karan is also blessed with two beautiful daughters-in-law and four beautiful grandchildren. Karan enjoys the outdoors with her great Dane Buster, gardening, traveling, hiking, biking, camping, picnics and time with her family.
